Being Jewish..It’s In

A short editorial by Aaron Sperling

Is it only me, or have others noticed recently the growing trend among Jewish kids to use their religion to their advantage through jokes, puns, and the like? I’ll be sitting with some Jews and then suddenly one person will insult the other, then one person will comeback with some kind of Jewish retort (most likely based on the size of the others nose, or his or her amazing and speedy ability to pick up pennies), and the next thing you know you have a full scale Jew joke cracking war on your hands. Maybe it’s just me, but doesn’t this seem morally wrong? I mean, I know there’s not much I can do, but when I hear a friend talking about his great idea to make a comic strip solely based on a Jewish super hero (known as the Green Menorah) I shake my head in disappointment (while laughing). So I think, quoting “Weird Al” Yankovic, “I will not rest, I will not sleep for an instant until the one-nostrilled man is brought to justice” or in this case, every..um..Jew joke cracking vandal. But first I decided I’m going to buy some donuts.

Yoshi, the dinosaur with a Jew's nose.
